Staycation at Sentosa ~Day Three @S.E.A~

On our last day of the staycation, we went to the S.E.A for some immersive experience with the fishes.

We had our last (staycation) breakfast at the Hard Rock Hotel. It has the most variety of food, not difficult to wonder why this cafe has the most crowd. We were lucky to have a table by the time we reached at 8+, because by the time we got our food, we could see a long queue of hotel guests lining up at the entrance.

After breakfast, we went back to our hotel and chill for about an hour before bidding goodbye to our fantastic hotel.

We could have gotten the room upstairs if not for the upgrade.

 We discovered this VIP Pavilion

 For private functions maybe?

The Palace - must be feeling like a king when staying there huh.

After much exploring the other parts of the hotel, we decided to check out (leaving out luggage at the reception) and set off for S.E.A!

It was a Saturday when we visited, and there were hordes of tourists entering the aquarium.

The aquarium is located inside the The Maritime Experiential Museum, and the admission ticket includes visit to The Maritime Experiential Museum as well.

Historic figures in anime mode LOL

The body of the ship is actually a large screen where a clip featuring the early trading history of ancient China and Southeast Asia will be projected.

Replica of the Treasure Ship

Interactive game which features myths and legends along the trading route taken by early explorers.

Along the way to the aquarium, there are displays of the relics (replicas of course) as experienced by the people in the past.

They look so real that I almost freaked out when I bumped into the "daddy".

This camel is twice as tall as me!

The aquarium is at B1, and we took the escalator down. Most people just breezed past the displays and went straight to the aquarium. Oh, well..

The first feature is the Shipwreck, where corals start to grow on a broken ship and fish start to inhabit it.

The brochures and website feature a pretty picture of an underwater tunnel:

I can assure you that this picture is not photoshopped, but the photographer should be standing at the end of the tunnel when he took this picture, BECAUSE THE TUNNEL IS DAMN SHORT FOR GODDAMN SAKE.

Ya, and practically the whole tunnel was filled with kiasu tourists from a certain nationality and they were hogging every empty space for phototaking so I did not manage to take a proper look at the sea creatures swimming above me, let alone taking a decent picture.

Super crowded can?

Well, I could look up and stingrays hovering over me.

Next we exited the tunnel to come to this giant glass cylinder of marine fish.

No need for photoshop, they are just as pretty.

It was difficult to take a picture of myself with the fish in the background, but I did not want to use flash (though people just heck care and flashed all out). In the end I just kept my camera and admired the fish with my naked eyes.

Urchins (Uni :d)

The highlight of the visit of course is the Ocean Gallery featuring the world's largest viewing panel to give visitors a underwater immersive experience.

I could just sit there and spent my whole afternoon mesmerized by the panoramic view of the ocean.

Love the blues.

Like leaping into the air (water?)

These scuba divers have the best job in the world

After a hour or so, we left the place, picked up our luggage from hotel and headed for home.

The visit to aquarium rounds up our July staycation perfectly. I would recommend this package to families as it has a good range of wholesome activities suitable for any ages. The promotional package is not available for now for some reason, but it is really worth the price.

Look forward to other fun-filled activities (and promotions)!
